What OOS is and how to work around it {day 20}

When I first started out with young living, not even the business side, there were a lot of terms that I needed to know.  One of them was OOS.

OOS: out of stock. If you look to the website right now, there is A LOT out of stock, especially on the American side. You go looking for one oil and end up finding it isn't available. So what can you do?

For some products, you can work your way around it with something that will do the trick until the oil you want is in stock.
Here are some ideas from my personal stash to share with you:

YL event, zyto scan, and sleep tricks {Day 16}

To the left is the Aroma complete. You can buy it for $2000 dollars wholesale OR you can become a distributor, and hope that you can make Silver in Six, hitting the rank of silver in six months. Why? Because you get this FREE.

When you hit Si6, or even when you order it, you get a randomized 130, 5ml oils. That is amazing. Did I mention FREE when you hit Si6?

Now I'm no where near that, I'm just edging on becoming a senior star (1-3 more people signed up, or the people I have signed up ordering a tiny bit more), and that is quite a ways away from Silver. BUT it is the dream, and I believe that dreams are very important to have.

Tonight, I attended an event "Young Living Essential Oils: Natural Support for Emotional Wellbeing and Everyday Concerns". This is my first EVER YL event and I was super pumped about it. It is hosted by my uplines upline, who made Si6 and had her aroma complete kit there as well as the freedom kit, the ningxia chrome kit (Christmas), and her rainstone diffuser (which was diffusing a lovely mix of cinnamon bark and orange). She touched on a lot of anxiety, depression and sleep issues that oils can help with, as well as just essential well being and how to get out of funks and out of your dark space.

Now, it's way past when I usually go to sleep BUT since I love you guys, read on about oils that help with sleep.

Also at the event I won a prize! 1 packet of ningxia red and a tube of ningxia nitro! So helpful with my 30 day challenge!

After talking to a few friends about how they want the kit but monies, I got to thinking 'I should put together a list of cheaper oils to show how awesome young living is at making sure EVERYONE can afford essential oily goodness'. And now I'm finally getting around to it.

Below, are oils under $15, $20, $25 and my bonus 2 oils under $30 that deserved a special mention. As Christmas rolls around, I wanted to show you in the internet lands, how versatile these oils are and how they work, and not just OOO LOOK cheap stuff!

First time jitters

Any time you do something for the first time, you're usually pretty excited but also nervous (unless it's seeing Doctor Who for the first time. That's just plain exciting).

Today, I'm feeling calm as a clam, but my jitters don't usually start until later on.

So, I've doused myself in peace and calming, put some lemon and peppermint in my water for some energy and happiness in my tin water bottle (the oils can go through plastic so I've since switched over), and put a bit of joy over my heart. Because today is the day folks.

A heavenly scent to help clear the mind

Cedarwood didn't smell so nice to me from the bottle the first time I smelled it. It was very powerful and had a very musky sort of smell to it. But then you start inhaling it through the diffuser or when it is topically applied and it has an amazing smell. It reminds me of a very sensual mans cologne, or being in the woods in a nice log cabin beside the lake.

This essential oil works for many things. When I first decided to get it, price was key. For this amazing 15 ml bottle it's only $12.

You heard me right. A 15 ml bottle for $12. This makes my wallet happy.

The second thing that made me want to get this oil was it's ability to help the mind settle and forgive and forget. I know nothing can help you forget your past, but this oil really does help you forget the more stressful times in life and helps you be present in the moment. As someone who struggles with letting go of the past and always looks to far ahead in the future, I thought to myself it's worth a shot. What do I have to lose?

Here's how I use cedarwood:

-I sometimes just need a pick me up and smell straight from the bottle (or my hands if i've applied it topically)

-I apply a drop to each of my temples for relaxation and focusing on the present.

-I diffuse 3-5 drops at night for a deep and relaxing sleep. I also will diffuse it during my meditation (depending on the intentions and mantras I use).

You can smell it. Mmm.... just the smell of it takes my imagination to amazing places.

[Member # 1884860] Yes, I matched my nails to the bottle. Just in case you were wondering.

The last thing that caught my attention about this oil is the fact that it helps with sleep. I added some of this to my DIY sleep cream and it works wonders. It's also great to diffuse at night or during meditation.

It also helps children with autism (I work with autistic children and some of the families I work with use this throughout the day and rub it on their child's chest. It really calms them down and apparently helps them from wetting the bed).

Well there you have it folks! Yes i'm sure the picture of me smelling it wasn't totally necessary but I like taking pictures and this gives me an extra excuse to take selfies. Express yo'self people.

ps. Today i'm off to see the Doctor Who premiere in theatres!!! Super excited to meet Mr. Capaldi!  See picture below from my instagram to see how Whovian I am (this is only the tip of the iceberg my friends).

DIY sleep cream

8/28/2014

I'm an OK sleeper. If that's something you can quantify.

Most nights I will sleep dreamlessly, wake up once or twice, maybe even wake up close to 5am for a bathroom break. That's my routine. When I started with young living I pinterested a bunch of stuff to see what you can do with the essential oils. If you clicked the link, you can see, there is a lot.

So I searched "young living sleep" and a lot came up. But the thing that struck me the most is the sleep creams they made there. I'm a big DIY person and try my best to make crafts and artsy things so I decided I wanted to make something! I found an empty jar (the jar was 'up-cycled' from an almond butter jar) and used dollar store washi tape (or you can just call it fancy tape with designs on it) and wrapped the top and bottom border with it and then covered the lid. I then used 'scribbles' 3-D paint and attempted to handwrite "sleep 'zzz' cream." You be the judge if it was successful or not based on the pictures beside.

ANY WAYS:

Here is my recipe for my sleep 'zzz' cream:

1/2 cup of coconut oil (I use the big tub from costco)
10 drops lavender
10 drops valor
10 drops cedarwood
5 drops lemon (use more if you like, Lemon focuses me and I didn't want a whole lot of that for a sleep cream)
10 drops peace and calming
10 drops stress away

Put all into jar and stir! I used a butter knife to mix it (it was the closest thing around and had a flat head and hey, it did the job). Some recipes call for whipping it in a mixer but if I were you, i'd take a fork or whatever you have lying around and give your arm a good work out. That will get you sleepy too! Also, if you coconut oil is a bit runny, once you've made your cream, let it sit and harden a bit. It's a lot nicer when it melts on your skin rather than oily from the start.

I apply my mix on the bottom of my feet, and if I need an extra bit of help, I put some on my chest and/or the back of my neck. It smells citrus-y and pretty heavenly to me. It moisturises my feet AND helps me sleep. What a great deal!

All of the oils I used in the cream (except cedarwood which you should get any ways because it's only $12 for a 15 ml bottle and is fantastic!) are from the premium-lite/premium starter kit. When you order the premium starter kit you get the diffuser, stress away with roller ball, samples of peppermint, thieves, peace and calming and lavender, ningxia samples, and the every day oils kit which has 10- 5ml bottles. It's what I started with and I've been hooked ever since!

Have you made your own? What did you use? I love sharing (it is caring after all) so let me know!

[Member # 1884860] Even kitty here is helping! Meet Quiver! This is cat 2 of 3. She is my boyfriends cat and is the oldest of the 3. Vets say she is about 14 years old.
*Caution* Be careful when putting this near a window or something warm! The mixture melts and it can be quite the surprise when you dip your hand in there expecting it to be a lotion rather than liquid!

Even after just a quick smell Quiver is out like a light!
