Every time it rolls around, I check out pinterest for PMS help. I've gotten better, but I'm still pretty moody and cramps hit me by surprise. This time around, I have way more than what I used to have, but I still don't have the 2 major essential oils for periods: dragon time (perfect title!) and clary sage. So I scoured my oil box for other oils that would help in the same ways. They may be more than one or two bottles, but each one helps me with specific things and have helped today's 'ughness' immensely. Let me share with you what the menu was today from my body (isn't being a woman great?!) |
This is an oil I apply daily to combat future PMS. Progessence phyto plus is an essential oil that helps regulate the progesterone hormone and is a blend of copaiba (pain killing machine!), frankincense, coconut oil (carrier), cedarwood, bergamot, peppermint, vitamin E acetate (helps with skin), rosewood, chaste tree oil, and finally clove oil (another great pain reliever and a major part of the thieves blend). Apply this oil once (or twice) daily on the wrists or inside of the elbows (what I do), to regulate this hormone, relieve stress and anxiety, and have happier periods (yes I said it)! |
Grapefruit is a wonderful citrus oil. It tastes great in water (especially with thieves), helps boost your immune system, fight depression and anxiety AND helps you feel a little less bloated. This morning I felt like a very sad balloon. I applied 2-3 drops of grapefruit around my belly button, and felt so much better. A word of caution though: you may or may not hit the bathroom a few times after applying. Most days I'm good, but yesterday was thanksgiving... so I'll let you use your imagination. |
Joy is a lovely blend of rose, bergamot, mandarin, ylang ylang, lemon, geranium, jasmine, palmarose, roman chamomile and rosewood. It smells like heaven on a day where I feel like the devil. I applied 1-2 GENEROUS drops over my heart, and inhaled from the bottle for many minutes to help ease my PMS. |
When I typed in google to find an image of peppermint, I typed in peppermine. I love my peppermint! Last night it helped calm down my restless legs, and this morning I applied it over top of the grapefruit to help my stomach calm down. Whenever my period rolls around, for the first morning at least, my stomach is rolly polly. Not today! Within 20 minutes and a few trips to the bathroom, I feel like myself again, smell great, and have a bit of energy to boot. |
Last, but not least, panaway. Yes, I did use it to get some pain away. Cramps are hit and miss with me, and so are headaches. Lucky for me, since I started using progessence phyto plus, headaches and periods are no longer synonymous. But cramps can still happen, especially the morning of. I applied 1-2 drops on both of my sides and within moments I felt so much better. Panaway works like a charm and on days like today I am so grateful for it!. Some days I will use wintergreen as well, as it is the main component and pain killer in this blend of clove, helichrysum and peppermint. |
