If you would have told me 6 months ago, I would have amassed this many products, and hit 50 bottles of essential oils I would have called you crazy and said 'That's a lot of money I don't have and could use on more essential things like food and tylenol (I was preparing for all the headaches of graduating and finding a teaching position). I'm not that reckless' Well, I guess I'm reckless! Spending money caring about my health has made me feel happier and healthier, helped me meet amazing people, and is now a business, a hobby and a social activity for me. I want to share my young living story with you. |
For a while I was just routine; classes, work, come home, eat, sleep. Repeat. But when I started working with my new Lethbridge family, that changed to classes, young living?, work, young living?, home, young living?, eat, young living?, sleep, young living?
One thing that got to me when I started to get interested was the fact that you had to be a 'member' to get these amazing products. If they are so amazing, why couldn't they be sold commercially? And then it hit me: If essential oils were in stores, people would abuse them just like tylenol, and disrupt that goodness that is Young Living. Young Living stands for much more than 'pop this pill and be careful of drowsiness, nausea, etc...". You take your own health into control and don't have to rely on a convenience store who could care less if you overdosed on your tylenol or advil. If you join the Young Living team, you join a family who cares about you and supports you.
So then, I joined. Premium starter kit and all. Didn't really have the support of anyone except the person who helped me join. She gave me strategies and reading and a pocket reference which was great and helpful, but my parents didn't really care and my boyfriend is a stubborn skeptic (still working on it...). But as I kept using the oils to help treat headaches, my anxiety, my attention span, sleep, and so-on, I realised these oils are much more than a hobby, they became a lifestyle for me.
So why did I start a business?I really didn't intend to. I added one more family to my job over the summer and it was a challenge. There were days I came home crying in frustration and anger because I didn't know how to help this family, and certain circumstances were working against me. But out of the tough time came a great thing: My first sign up. The family is now with someone else because they said they know them better and whatever, but they were the first family I ever signed up and shared my passion with. I got my first cheque in the mail and immediately message my upline asking what this $50 was for. |
I had my first information session and have since then signed up 3/5 people who went to that session, and re-sold Canadian products for all 5 of those people. Sharing comes easy with Young Living because I've experience it myself. I now have 5 going on 6 people in my down-line that have signed up and love Young Living. I have an amazing up-line (I've met my up-lines up-line in person too!) whom I chat with and collaborate with on a weekly basic and am so blessed to have found Young Living.
Young Living has brought me closer to people I would have never thought I would have anything in common with and has given me a renewed social life and lease on life. This is the dream! This is what I was looking for ever since I graduated high school. And here I am now, incredibly proud of where I am and very honoured to have Young Living in my life.
How has Young Living touched your life?
