I'm an OK sleeper. If that's something you can quantify. Most nights I will sleep dreamlessly, wake up once or twice, maybe even wake up close to 5am for a bathroom break. That's my routine. When I started with young living I pinterested a bunch of stuff to see what you can do with the essential oils. If you clicked the link, you can see, there is a lot. So I searched "young living sleep" and a lot came up. But the thing that struck me the most is the sleep creams they made there. I'm a big DIY person and try my best to make crafts and artsy things so I decided I wanted to make something! I found an empty jar (the jar was 'up-cycled' from an almond butter jar) and used dollar store washi tape (or you can just call it fancy tape with designs on it) and wrapped the top and bottom border with it and then covered the lid. I then used 'scribbles' 3-D paint and attempted to handwrite "sleep 'zzz' cream." You be the judge if it was successful or not based on the pictures beside. ANY WAYS: Here is my recipe for my sleep 'zzz' cream: 1/2 cup of coconut oil (I use the big tub from costco) 10 drops lavender 10 drops valor 10 drops cedarwood 5 drops lemon (use more if you like, Lemon focuses me and I didn't want a whole lot of that for a sleep cream) 10 drops peace and calming 10 drops stress away Put all into jar and stir! I used a butter knife to mix it (it was the closest thing around and had a flat head and hey, it did the job). Some recipes call for whipping it in a mixer but if I were you, i'd take a fork or whatever you have lying around and give your arm a good work out. That will get you sleepy too! Also, if you coconut oil is a bit runny, once you've made your cream, let it sit and harden a bit. It's a lot nicer when it melts on your skin rather than oily from the start. I apply my mix on the bottom of my feet, and if I need an extra bit of help, I put some on my chest and/or the back of my neck. It smells citrus-y and pretty heavenly to me. It moisturises my feet AND helps me sleep. What a great deal! All of the oils I used in the cream (except cedarwood which you should get any ways because it's only $12 for a 15 ml bottle and is fantastic!) are from the premium-lite/premium starter kit. When you order the premium starter kit you get the diffuser, stress away with roller ball, samples of peppermint, thieves, peace and calming and lavender, ningxia samples, and the every day oils kit which has 10- 5ml bottles. It's what I started with and I've been hooked ever since! Have you made your own? What did you use? I love sharing (it is caring after all) so let me know! | *Caution* Be careful when putting this near a window or something warm! The mixture melts and it can be quite the surprise when you dip your hand in there expecting it to be a lotion rather than liquid! |
