The greatest thing about game days, whether they be hockey, football, baseball, or whatever, is the snacks. Dips, cheese and meat trays, burgers, all kinds of things. But the best game day snack? Chicken wings. Yeah baby! (a little Peter Maher reference for those flames fans out there!) I am a chicken wing nut. I love going out for half price wings on wings nights at pubs all over Lethbridge and I go for wings first on any snack/meat tray. |
There isn't a lot to it, but the addition of Young Living Lime oil tastes sooo much better than regular lime! And it adds this mexican zest to the wings so it tastes like you're having wings but you're also having a lime margaritas (not really but the lime works really well!)
I used 1 pound of frozen wings
1/2 cup of sriracha hot sauce
1/2 cup of honey
3 drops of young living lime essential oil
Add all ingredients to the crock pot (I mixed the sriracha and the honey first, added it to the wings in the crock pot then added the lime oil, but however you mix it, that's your call!)
Then put on hight for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8.
Once done, pull out a baking sheet, cover in tin foil and put wings on there and all remaining sauce from the bottom of the crock pot, slather it up and put into an oven preheated at 350 for 5 minutes. This thickens up the sauce and makes it sticky and juicy.
And done! Yummmy! After I ate all of these, my lips burned (but in a satisfying way, reminding me of the AMAZING lunch I just made).
Now, I will add, the wings I used were frozen but pre-cooked. They were part of a pack that came with a sauce (which I've tried before and really don't like) and are only supposed to be cooked for 20 minutes. Be cautious on how long you cook your meat because you don't want your chicken to be undercooked!
Now go play hard, eat hard, and oil hard! Break!
